Being a driving teacher starts by a shock, you are not as sharp as you think. Commuting years without hitches are no preparation to finding someone studying every mirror check and every push of the pedals. Your driving habits are rebuilt whenever you are training. Observation becomes conscious and accurate. Mirror, street, death, crossroad, speed check–rechecking. Words excessive and are confusing your pupil. Too few, and they drift. Short and to the point instructions are best: Calm down. Check right. Hold.” It is a matter of time and not a matter of words.

The training is active by way of role plays. One of the students is faking panicking. Another disobeys commands in a dandyish fashion. Laughter fills the room followed by the reflection process. How did your tone receive reaction? The aspect of fine body language plays a crucial role in knowledge teaching.

One learns emotional control. Learners loiter around crossroads. Drivers honk behind you. The car may be full of anxiety. You have to cut through it, calmly and steadily it is your business. No sarcasm, no frustration. A regular teacher produces a confident student. Theory-based lessons are imperative. Professional requirements, legal, paperwork. Work in the administration may not be thrilling, but it will protect your name. It has been said by one teacher, when memory fails, paper work speaks. That advice sticks.

Hours on supervision wear you out. A mentor sits in the back seat. Everything teaching appears pompous. Then, there are good remarks, such as: Too late when reworking, or Good foresight at the crossing. Active listening brings about development. Simulators give you the feeling of controlled chaos of rain, tire bursts, another motor vehicle. It is better to die here than lose in real roads.

It is also important in business skills: reasonable prices, cancellations, building a trust. Talent will not stuff in your schedule and salaries. As time goes by, your opinion shifts. You no longer drive, but you think like a guide, you experience a tension of shoulders, a hesitation of breathing, and more or less moderately speed up or slow down.

Driving instructor training re-models instincts. The roads are all classes, all mistakes lessons. The car is significant, but it is patience, understanding of communication and silent confidence which are the tools of the trade.
